INSIDIOUS (2010)

This 1978 film is breathtaking. It revolves around a mental patient who escaped from the sanitarium he was in for 15 years. He then stalks a female babysitter and her friends, while being chased by his psychiatrist. In 2018, the United States National Film Registry Library of Congress chose The Shining to be preserved as it was “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”

When it comes to scary movies, Director James Wan is one of the best. Aside from the Insidious series, he also made an investment in The Conjuring film series. For starters, this classic horror movie is just an adaptation of the novel with the same title. This R-Rated horror film revolves around a 12-year old girl who was possessed by a demon, alongside two priests struggling to exorcise the entity. According to Rotten Tomatoes, this takes the credit for being the first horror movie to get nominated at the Oscars for Best Picture and the highest-grossing film of its kind in history.
